This is a traditional, Bible-based Nativity play script for children aged four and over. There are two variations, the first where the children learn and speak lines (or read them out), the second where the narrator describes the action. For the children to follow. May 25, 2018 We wanted to scratch the plays a company like ours – a diverse, cutting edge touring theatre company of 27 years – should be producing. We have our ideas but we wanted to hear yours. So, rather than select plays around a theme that we have set, for this scratch night, the floor was yours!
Your script must be:
- in English
- relevant to the theme published on their website
- 1-5 pages long with no more than 6 characters
- formatted appropriately
- in PDF or Word format
If your script or screenplay excerpt is selected, it’ll be read aloud at the SB&Co Scratch Night by their auditioned actors, then workshopped with supportive audience members. It’s a great place to be seen and meet new contacts who are on your side.
SB&Co’s scriptreaders assess every submission very carefully. Please don't be disheartened if yours isn't chosen, or leap to the conclusion that it isn't engaging or well-written. Decisions won't just be based on talent, but to offer the audience variety.
Though their Scratch Nights and Writing Retreats take place in Bath, Scriptwriters Bath & Co runs a Facebook group for playwrights, screenwriters, script readers, actors, filmmakers and/or theatrical producers at any stage of their career and wherever they live.
